About
Display math without the guesswork
Monitor Math is a calculator and reference site for comparing monitors, TVs, ultrawides, and multi-display desk layouts. Type in a diagonal and aspect ratio, or pick a real product, and the site shows how wide and tall the screen actually is, how many pixels per inch it draws, and whether it will fit on your desk next to anything else you already own.
Every number on the site comes from the same display geometry formulas you would do on paper — diagonals converted to width and height with the aspect ratio, viewing-area math from those dimensions, and PPI from the resolution. Nothing is scraped or synthesized; the calculator inputs are visible on every page so you can change them yourself.
Monitor Math was built by a person who got tired of trying to picture whether a 38-inch ultrawide would clear a desk or whether a 32-inch 4K really gave more usable space than a 27-inch 1440p. The same questions kept coming back, so the answers became a website.
Start with the monitor comparison calculator, browse multi-monitor setup plans, or read a buying guide if you want context before opening a calculator.
